As part of the GoldFish.Net 3.0 releaes we've added the SQL Favorites features. This feature allows you to select a directory on your local computer ( or network ) , the contents of this folder are then available to you as menu links within the application. This allows you to bookmark a directory with all of your favorite scripts and have automatic access to them within your GoldFish SQL Editor.

When you first login and open SQL Editor you'll now see a new menu called Favorites. This will have two options, Setup Favorites and Refresh.
  • Setup Favorites will open a menu allowing you to select a favorites directory location. Please note all sub folders will be displayed, but only files with an extension of SQL will be available.
  • If you have not setup your favorites directory and press the Refresh button you will be asked if you'd like to setup favorites now.

If you select the Setup Favorites option, you will taken to a menu to select a Favorites Directory. This can be any directory you have access to. Once you select your directory press the "Save" button make this directory your SQL Favorites directory. You can edit this directory at anytime through the same method.

Please note the following:

  • All sub folders will be displayed, but only files with an extension of SQL will be available.
  • The example directory shown is the Oracle RDBS directory. You can set this directory to be any valid windows directory you have access to. Please note since all directories and sub directories are loaded it is not recommend implementing this feature against root directories such as C:\, C:\Program Files, etc

After adding your favorites directory you will be returned to the SQL Editor. If you now click on the Favorites menu you will notice all directories, sub directories, and SQL Files within your SQL Favorites Directory.

To load a file simply select the entry such as ashrpt show here and click. The selected file will be loading into the SQL Editor window.
